The 2023 Cadillac XT4 will represent the fifth production year of the generation and despite the initial plans that included a facelift, it will come without more important updates. We are about to see another delay of the update that was originally planned for the 2022 mode, then delayed for 2023. Now it looks like this update could not even happen. In any case, the next year’s model will carry on in the same way, without more important changes. More precisely, the only notable changes will be new color options.
The overall layout will remain the same, which means that you may count on familiar pros and cons. What we like about this crossover is the spacious cabin, which offers plenty of passenger and cargo room. Also, the list of standard and available equipment is pretty long. On the other hand, the main complaints go to the subpar interior quality and unimpressive powertrain.
Since there are no significant changes to come, we presume that the 2023 Cadillac XT4 will hit the market sometime in the last quarter of the year.
2023 Cadillac XT4 Design
As we’ve just mentioned, the 2023 Cadillac XT4 won’t feature too many changes. Practically, the only notable updates will come in terms of new color options. The company will remove three color options from the offer and replace them with two new finishes. The deleted color options are Twilight Blue Metallic, Radiant Silver Metallic and Infrared Tintcoat. On the other hand, Radiant Red Tintcoat and Argent Silver Metallic will be added to the offer.
The rest of the car will remain pretty much the same. You may count on the same styling, which doesn’t follow the brand’s latest design language but which still looks pretty good. Mechanically, this crossover is based on GM’s familiar E2 platform, the same one that underpins models like Chevy Equinox and GMC Terrain. The XT4 is smooth and comfortable, though we would like to see a little bit more athleticism.
On the inside, things will remain largely the same. This crossover looks pretty nice from the inside, in general. However, if we compare it with other luxury subcompact crossover, things don’t look all that great. Most rivals offer nicer cabins, with fined materials and better build quality. Also, the dashboard starts to look a little bit old.
On the other hand, there is nothing to complain about in terms of interior space. With more than 109 inches in wheelbase, the XT4 is one of the biggest subcompact crossovers on the market. Therefore, it’s no wonder that both rows are very generous with legroom and accommodate adults with ease.
The cargo area offers around 22.5 cubic feet behind the second row, which is very good for the class. On the other hand, the overall cargo volume goes around 49 cubic feet, which isn’t all that impressive.
Although novelties in this aspect are always possible, we are pretty sure that the 2023 Cadillac XT4 won’t change much in this aspect. So, base models should come standard with goodies like dual-zone climate control, keyless entry, remote start, an 8-inch touch screen, a seven-speaker stereo, satellite radio, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, four USB ports, a Wi-Fi hot spot, and Bluetooth. Also, count on upgrades like a sunroof, a 13-speaker Bose stereo, wireless device charging, and navigation.
The same is with safety features. So, all models should come standard with goodies like forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, pedestrian detection, rearview camera, rear parking sensors, safety alert seat etc. Also, count on a very long list of available safety features, such as automatic high beams, adaptive headlights, lane departure warning, lane keep assist, lane change alert, front parking sensors, surround-view camera, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, rear pedestrian detection, head-up display, adaptive cruise control, reverse automatic emergency braking and many more.
2023 Cadillac XT4 Engine
The 2023 Cadillac XT4 will continue with the same, single powertrain choice. That’s a familiar 2.0-liter turbo-four, which puts out 235 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque, which is plenty enough for adequate acceleration and overall performance. The engine comes coupled with a 9-speed automatic transmission, which also does a pretty decent job.
Driving dynamics are good, while fuel economy is decent as well. You may count on something like 24 mpg in the city and 30 mpg on the highway, which is about average for the segment.
2023 Cadillac XT4 Release Date and Price
The 2023 Cadillac XT4 should hit the market sometime in the last quarter of the year, with a starting price of around 36.000 dollars.
