2020 Honda CR-V and CR-V Hybrid: Release Date, Price, and Specs

The hybrid model is coming to Europe in 2019. The same engine will appear in the US for the 2020 Honda CR-V. Fans are eagerly expecting to see updates of the compact crossover. Its current generation is still fresh. But, for the 2020 season model, CR-V will get the first facelift. One of the major additions will be a hybrid engine.

Besides that, the company will upgrade its infotainment, while the petrol engines are staying the same. The refreshed exterior will present new headlights and bumper. The 2020 Honda CR-V Hybrid will look the same as the conventional crossover. Plug-in version is also possible. The redesign will include a revisit of features across all trim levels. The new CR-V Touring will get more of everything. Safety, as always, is at the highest level. This time, it comes with even more accessories.

2020 Honda CR-V Specs

Under the hood of the standard 2020 Honda CR-V will be a 2.4-liter four-cylinder unit. This reliable engine is cheap for maintenance, and it delivers enough power for CR-V. With it, the new crossover will be capable to deliver 185 hp and 180 lb-ft of torque. Also, fuel economy is superb. Honda CR-V is already ahead of the competition with 26/32 mpg rating with front-wheel drive configuration. AWD is optional. Power transmitter is a CVT. Drivers can also set the sport mode.

The previous engine is available only for an entry-level model. All other trim levels will come with a 1.5-liter turbo-four engine. Power and mileage outputs are very similar. A turbocharged engine adds 5 ponies and 2 mpg over numbers we presented for the regular 4-pot mill. The same transmission is a power router here. The good thing about this drivetrain is it doesn’t require premium gasoline.

2020 Honda CR-V Hybrid and Specs

Believe or not, Honda already unveiled specs of the upcoming hybrid engine. According to official data, the new system will create 180 hp and 232 lb-ft of torque. Well, this is a model for the European market, but these specifications can fit the US version. All in all, a hybrid setup combines an electric motor with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine.

Front-wheel drive is standard and AWD optional. According to announcements, the 2020 Honda CR-V Hybrid will return between 44 and 48 mpg combined. The compact crossover is not the best option for towing with space for 1500 pounds. The hybrid model will keep this capacity.

2020 Honda CR-V Configurations

The upcoming 2020 Honda CR-V is about to keep all existing trim levels. That means the offer starts with the LX model. EX and EX-L are mid-range trims whose price is still under $30,000. At the top of the table will be again Honda CR-V Touring.

The base model is nicely equipped. It offers Eco driving mode, 17-inch wheels, and 60/40 split seats. The EX upgrades equipment and engine with turbo unit. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are part of the infotainment system in this version. Power tailgate and adjustable seats are highlights of the EX-L model. We can also find leather trimming inside the cabin. Premium audio system and navigation are standard with 2020 Honda CR-V Touring. Besides that, it enlarges wheels, boosts safety, and adds more features that will make a driver’s commands easier.

2020 Honda CR-V Colors

EX, EX-L and Touring models are somehow special for the Honda CR-V. That will be in 2020. An entry-level LX is a plain crossover. It doesn’t offer too much compared to its higher trim levels. The situation is clear when you just take a look at the current color offer. While Touring and EX editions are coming in 10 different colors, the LX offers only six paint jobs. For the upcoming season, the 2020 Honda CR-V will offer new colors. Well, some will be replaced, but fans can expect at least paint jobs in the palette.

2020 Honda CR-V Safety Features

The best-known safety feature for the 2020 Honda CR-V will be Honda Sensing. This is an intelligent package of accessories that will make your vehicle smarter. A driver can rely on it even if misses some objects. Adaptive cruise control and lane departure warning are standard with this suite. Also, you are getting collision mitigation braking. There are also road departure warning systems, which are controlled by small cameras.
