2021 Audi Q4 e-tron: Everything We Know So Far

Audi is seriously expanding its lineup these days. After the launch of new Q4 and Q8 models, the new e-tron is here as well. That’s not all, as the new entry-level model, Q1, is coming next year as well. Finally, we are about to see a new all-electric crossover in the lineup, in the form of 2021 Audi Q4 e-tron. This model will be the company’s next all-electric crossover and if we look at predictions, which model promises a lot and should be one of the more popular all-electric crossovers in the market in the future.

From what we know so far, the 2021 Audi Q4 e-tron will bring various improvements compared to the e-tron Sportback. This particularly refers to the drivetrain and range, but we also count on new styling and more interior and cargo space. After, this will be the first Audi model to ride on VW’s new MEB platform, which brings interesting design solutions in other aspects as well. The Q4 e-tron should hit the market by the end of the year.

Of course, one of the most interesting aspects of the 2021 Audi Q4 e-tron will be its all-electric setup. At this point, we already know some of the details about the new crossover. It looks like the new model will come with a couple of electric motors, powering each axle. The total output will go around 300 horsepower and with an all-wheel-drive system, we expect nothing but strong performances. In numbers, that would mean around 6.3 seconds for a 0-60 sprint. That’s not the fastest time in the class but definitely sounds very solid.

When it comes to the range, we know for sure that the 2021 Audi Q4 e-tron will come with an 82-kWh battery pack. That’s a quite respectable number, which should ensure a max range of 280 miles. That’s way better compared to the e-tron Sportback, which can take around 200 miles on a single charge.

In terms of base design characteristics, this will be the first Audi to ride on the company’s new MEB platform. This architecture is designed for electric vehicles, in particular, so we don’t expect compromises in terms of battery storage, interior space, and similar things. One of the first things that come to mind is the offer of charging options and here we count on at least three options, which would include both household and fast-charging compatibility. However, numbers about the recharging time are still unavailable.

The battery pack will be positioned under the floor. Besides space savings, such layout also guarantees the low center of gravity, which in practice means agility and solid handling.

Styling

When it comes to the styling, we are about to see a notable departure from the rest of the lineup. While the recently-introduced e-tron looks very similar to the rest of the lineup, the 2021 Audi Q4 e-tron will feature completely new aesthetics, with the exclusive front end design. It will come with lots of details that accentuate the model’s all-electric character, while the front end will be characterized by a massive grille and narrower headlights.

Another important thing to mention is that this model will feature a typical crossover shape. Unlike the e-tron Sportback SUV, which is a coupe-like layout, this one will come with a more conventional layout, without the sloping roof. In practice, this means more cargo space and overall practicality. Of course, we have no doubt that the 2021 Audi Q4 e-tron will come with loads of other exclusive features, but the production model is yet to have a premiere. Meanwhile, we can enjoy rendering photos only.

Interior

When someone mentions Audi, one of the first things that come to mind is an excellent interior design and we have no doubt that the 2021 Audi Q4 e-tron will be no exception. Therefore, we count on an attractive and well-built dashboard, which will feature hi-quality materials and come with loads of tech features. Some sources suggest a double-touchscreen layout at the center, where the upper screen would be used for navigation and media, while the lower one would be responsible for climate controls and similar things. Of course, we also count on the company’s excellent digital instrument cluster.

When it comes to seating and interior space, this will be a four-seater, with a couple of bucket seats in both rows. Both rows should be able to comfortably accommodate adults, while the cargo area should offer some decent numbers as well.
